Basil Pesto




  • 2 cups fresh basil 
  • 2 garlic cloves 
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 1/3 cup shredded parmesan
  • 1/3 cup olive oil 
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper 

Combine all in a food processor and process until desired consistency. Use immediately or freeze for later use.
