Three Milk Cake (Tres Leches)

  • 6 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  1. Beat eggs for 5 min. Slowly add sugar.
  2. In separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In separate bowl, combine milk and vanilla.
  4. Starting and ending with flour, alternately add flour and milk mixtures into the eggs.
  5. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes in a greased 9x13 pan.


Milk Mixture:

  • 14 oz can condensed milk
  • 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
Combine the milk mixture. 

  1. Take cake out of oven and immediately punch holes in cake.
  2. Pour milk down holes. Refrigerate for 1 hour or longer.
Whipped Topping: 
  • 1 pint heavy cream 
  • 3 Tbsp powdered sugar 
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla 
  • Ground cinnamon, light sprinkle 
  • Sliced strawberries or maraschino cherries, optional 
8. In the meantime, with the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks (or use thawed Cool Whip). Smooth over the top of cake. Sprinkles cinnamon on top. Serve with maraschino, cherries, or fresh sliced strawberries, if desired. Serve chilled.
