Sourdough Maple Bacon Pecan Scones

2   cups   ( 250   g )  all purpose flour  ⅓   cup   ( 66   g )   granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon   baking powder ¾   teaspoon   table salt ½   cup   ( 113   g )   cold unsalted butter ½   cup   ( 110   g )   sourdough discard ¼   cup   ( 60   ml )   heavy cream 2 Tablespoons maple syrup  3 Tablespoons bacon crumbles  ½   cup pecans, chopped  Glaze ½   cup powdered sugar (60 g) 2 Tablespoon maple syrup  1 Tablespoon milk, if needed  Pinch of salt Preheat oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Serves 6, ~120g per sandwich 1 tablespoon extra light olive oil 1 small onion (chopped) 1/2 small bell pepper (diced) 3 garlic cloves (minced) 1 pound ground beef or turkey 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt (or to taste) 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste) 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce 1/4 cup ketchup 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 teaspoons yellow mustard (or to taste) 2 to 3 teaspoons brown sugar (or to taste) 5 hamburger buns (toasted) Serve with Coleslaw Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Research dipping it into Monte Cristo sandwich batter 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk   3 large eggs 1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar, optional  3/4 teaspoons vanilla 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt   1/4 cup flour, optional  Cooking spray or butter for greasing pan 6 slices bread In a blender mix together milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix in flour, little by little, until smooth, if using. Pour into  a shallow dish, set  aside. Place a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and spray with cooking spray or melt ½ Tablespoon of butter.    Once pan is heated, whisk your egg mixture once more then soak one slice of bread on both sides. Immediately transfer bread to preheated skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides.
