Sourdough Cherry Almond Scones

2   cups   ( 250   g )  all purpose flour  ⅓   cup   ( 66   g )   granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon   baking powder ¾   teaspoon   table salt ½   cup   ( 113   g )   cold unsalted butter ½   cup   ( 110   g )   sourdough discard ¼   cup   ( 60   ml )   heavy cream 1 teaspoon vanilla extract  ½  cup (80g) dried cherries Almond Glaze ½   cup powdered sugar (60 g) 1 Tablespoon heavy cream or milk ¼  teaspoon almond  extract  Pinch of salt Preheat oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream Cheese Dips Spreads

  1. Brown Sugar Pecan 8 oz cream cheese, softened 2 tbsp brown sugar 2 tbsp chopped pecans 1 tbsp honey ¼ tsp cinnamon Pinch of salt Spread cream cheese on a serving plate. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans, and salt. Drizzle with honey. Best with: Buttery crackers or apple slices. 2. Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 30–45 minutes Total Time: 40–55 minutes Yield: About 1½ cups Category: Snack ⸻ Notes After Making Add ⸻ Ingredients 2 cups chopped fresh figs (300 g), stems removed ½ cup granulated sugar (98 g) ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom, optional Zest and juice of ½ lemon or orange  ¼ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract ⸻ Instructions Remove the stems from the figs and roughly chop them. For a smoother jam, finely chop the figs. Add the figs, sugar, balsamic vinegar, cardamom, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice to a medium saucepan . Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like.
