Jessica’s Chili



Serves 6

1 tbsp oil
1 lb ground turkey or beef
1 onion, diced
1 bell pepper, chunked
1-2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp beef broth paste
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
28 oz crushed tomatoes (plus about 7oz of water from rinsing the can)
14 oz diced tomatoes 
14 oz black beans, drained 
Toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, tortilla chips or crackers

Heat skillet with oil over medium heat. Brown veggies and meat, add spices and remaining ingredients. Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, diced avocado and tortilla chips or crackers. 

Alternate:

1 lb ground beef

1 cup onion, chopped

3-4 garlic cloves, chopped

4 Tbl chili powder

2 tsp chipotle powder

1 Tbl ground cumin

1 tsp oregano

2 tsp cinnamon

1 can 28oz diced tomatoes

1 can 28oz Italian stewed tomatoes

1 can 28oz tomato sauce

1 can 28oz vegetarian refried beans

1 can 28oz black beans, drained

1 can lager beer or beef broth 


Brown ground sirloin, drain any liquid. Add onion and garlic and saute

on low heat for ten minutes, salt and pepper. Add in spices.


Pour beer over chili, let reduce. Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil then place on low till you can’t wait any longer to eat it
