Original Nutritional Yeast Crack Dressing

  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or liquid aminos
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or any vinegar)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil or other light oil
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon water, if needed

Yogurt or Buttermilk Variation

  • ½ cup plain yogurt or buttermilk
  • 1–2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1–2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

Original Nutritional Yeast Crack Dressing

  1. Add all ingredients to a jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Shake vigorously until well combined and emulsified.
  3. Add water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  4. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Yogurt or Buttermilk Variation

  1. Add all ingredients to a jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Whisk with fork until smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.
  4. Add 1–2 teaspoons water if a thinner consistency is desired.
  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prep Ahead:

  • Both versions can be prepared up to 3 days ahead.
