Homemade Buttermilk Waffles

 


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk 
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat a waffle iron.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir.
  • Add the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  • Add 1/2 cup of the batter to the preheated waffle maker for a Belgian-style waffle or add 1/3 cup of the batter to the waffle maker for an American-style waffle. The amount of batter you use will vary based on the size of the waffle iron. Makes 6 in my waffle iron.
