Honey Cornbread
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk or milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1/3 cup honey
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Spray 9×9 pan with non stick spray.
- Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Stir well. Fold in additional ingredients below, optional.
- Pour into your prepared pan and baked for 20-25 minutes until the cornbread is a golden brown. Allow to cool and then cut.
Blueberry Cornbread
- 1 1/2 cups blueberries
Mexican Cornbread
- Reduce sugar and honey to 1/4 cup each
- 4 ounce can green chilies
- 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
